How much does family mediation cost?
Brighter future mediation is proud be one of the most affordable services in the UK as we’re committed to making mediation accessible. Unlike most services, we do not charge extra for signing of court forms. The only cost is time with the Mediator.
We are fully online and available for appointments across the UK at a time that’s convenient for you.
Before making a court application for certain types of family law orders, you are legally required to attend a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) to see if mediation could be a better option. See below for more details.
Family Mediation Voucher Scheme
Eligible parties receive £500 towards mediation sessions
We are registered with the government’s (MOJ) Mediation Voucher Scheme that gives eligible parties £500 towards mediation sessions. The voucher is not means tested, and is available for all cases involving child arrangements. Find out more here.
The family mediation voucher scheme is designed to support parents/grandparents in resolving family law disputes involving children outside of court, reducing backlogs and encouraging mediation as an effective means of dispute resolution.
Family Mediation
We know the process can be confusing and we are committed to saving you time, money and the stress of court battles. Below you’ll find details of all our services but it’s often best to give us a call for a free consultation so you can decide the most efficient way forward.
Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM)
£99 (per person)
- 1 x 60-minute Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM)
- You will have the opportunity to share more about your situation and the mediator will give you information on the options (court, mediation and others) available to you so you can make an informed decision on your next steps.
- If required, the mediator signed C100 / Form A application form is £25
Mediation sessions
£150 (per person)
- 1 x joint 90-minute mediation session
- Written mediation session summary
- Shuttle mediation available
Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM)
£100 (per parent per session - 1 hour)
A child’s voice and perspective can sometimes be overlooked when developing arrangements for their care if they are not actively involved in the mediation process. For families where children want their voices heard, Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM) allows specially trained FMC registered mediators to speak directly with children separately and confidentially. They then share information, agreed with the child/ren, in the adult sessions to support the mediation process. CIM is empowering for children and it helps parents understand their child/ren’s perspectives whilst maintaining age-appropriate boundaries supporting faster resolution.

SimplyPro Removal & Storage LtdTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a very positive experience with this mediation service, even though — due to my personal circumstances — we weren’t able to proceed with mediation in the end. From the very first point of contact, the team was professional, supportive, and responsive. They handled everything with empathy and a calm, non-judgmental approach, which really helped during a difficult and emotional time. Although the process couldn’t go ahead in my case, I genuinely felt that I was in capable hands. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering mediation.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 18 reviewsVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
